On Saturday, January 23rd, in 15 degree weather, Habitat celebrated the ground breaking of it's fourth home for Rebekah and Brooklynn Wolford. Normally, these ceremonies are planned for just after the lot has been cleared and before construction begins. But a rushed schedule to get the house onsite before a specified deadline meant the ceremony had to come later. The house, a LEED certified home built by Charlottesville high school kids from CATEC had already been set in place a few weeks ealier. Despite the cold, the assembled group were warm in their well wishes.
